A Massive Push Forward With Our Robotic Software
We are excited to announce that our innovation team at TTS has been working hard to enhance the usability of our robotic apps. As a result, we have some great news to share with you! The Loti-Bot web app is now available for use on laptops, Chromebooks, and PCs.
This software is supported in Chrome and Edge, and operates in the same way as the tablet app. All you need is a device that can make a Bluetooth connection, which can be done by adding a BT dongle (if the device itself does not have one). Then the software will connect to a physical Loti-Bot in exactly the same way.
The web version offers several benefits, including the ability to save Loti programming files as .loti files on your computer. This feature makes it easier for teachers to set up and share sample files across school networks with colleagues and students. It is a more flexible teaching tool that can help enhance the learning experience.
TTS PROGRAMMING JOURNEY: LOTI-BOT
Loti-Bot is part of the TTS Programming Journey, where our robots support the development of computational thinking and programming skills, from Early Years to age 12 and beyond.
With Loti-Bot, students can be introduced to the fundamental concepts of coding and algorithms. They learn to create sequences of instructions using block-based coding, developing essential computational thinking skills. Understanding algorithms at an early age fosters problem-solving abilities, preparing students for future challenges. Pupils can see the output by sending the algorithm to a connected Loti-Bot. Or they can watch the screen version of Loti-Bot follow the instructions to check and debug their programmes before testing on Loti. Consequentially, this makes their programming very ‘real,’ and for children, especially when first delving into the world of coding. This physical manifestation of their programmes can help them to really understand the concepts of debugging and planning out their code carefully.
